Here is a new work that is minimalist and sculptural. The center piece is a long rectangular slab folded over to accommodate a variety of stringing material. The hole is a generous 1/8" as are the holes in the beads. The satin matt raku glaze is a cool blue with gold overtones. This is a beautiful piece, one of a kind.

She is a dryad or faerie, a tree spirit in Greek and Celtic mythology. Female spirits of nature (nymphs), who preside over the groves and forests live among the trees and this one favors butterflys. Soft coloration akin to classic pen/ink washes found in antique books. Black impregnated in the texture provides depth and a suitable contrast to the pastel washes. Great coloration on this one! Sweet and charming!

Square tube beads with a subtle wavy lines softly covered by a high gloss glaze, a deep and mysterious blue which breaks to a sensual soft grey green over the edges. The glaze is applied thickly in order to allow it to pool and gather deep color.
